HARP24 is the 24-hour running festival taking place in July in South Essex. In 2024 the 11th annual challenge will start Friday 5th with the race starting at 12pm Saturday 6th and finishing Sunday 7th July. This year there are two junior events to encourage younger supporters to get involved.

HARP2point4 - A Junior Fun Run

As part of HARP24 we’re encouraging junior runners to get involved this year.

Starting at 3 pm on Saturday 6 July the HARP 2.4 is a 2.4 mile (3.8 km) run for runners aged 4-18 who aren’t taking part in the main HARP24 event this year.

For just a £15 entry fee runners will receive a t-shirt and medal. To help us raise money from this we ask that runners raise a minimum of £30 in sponsorship.  There will be trophies for each age category below.

Age categories:

Parents can cheer on their loved ones from the side-line, and if you are taking part in HARP24 you’ll be running alongside the HARP2.4 runners for part of the course.

HARP24 Mini – get your toddler involved with the main event

For toddlers aged between two to four years, HARPMini is a short toddle for the little ones. For just £8 in advance or £10 on the day this is a lovely event for the little ones to take part in.

This race is around 100 metres so very manageable for even the littlest of legs.

For toddlers who get involved they’ll receive a goodie bag at the end of the race.

If you would like to enter your child for HARP2.4 or HARPMini, click on the registration button above.

Don't just take our word for it...

HARP24 is a really special event with an amazing atmosphere and a really friendly vibe throughout the weekend. Lots of our runners come back year on year, and many tell us it's the highlight of their running calendar.

But you don't need to take our word for it. Here are a few of the lovely things runners have said about HARP24.

"My first HARP24 and I loved it! Brilliantly organised and  so friendly!"

"The sheer logistics of putting on an event like yours is simply overwhelming but through your hard work and determination you hosted an amazing weekend and gave us all a great experience to remember for ever"

"Thank you so much for yet again hosting the top running event of the year. HARP24 team, I love you! "

"Our favourite running event of the year!"

Basic Race Info

Full race rules will be released in June closer to the race.

For all teams, there are three categories: all-female, all-male, and mixed.

Please note, to be eligible for a trophy as a mixed team, you must have no more than the maximum number of male team members as specified below. If your team exceeds the maximum number of male team members, you can still enter but will not be eligible to win a trophy within your category.

Teams of 3 - Max 2 male team members

Teams of 4 - Max 3 male team members

Teams of 5 - Max 3 male team members

Teams of 6 - Max 4 male team members

Teams of 7 - Max 4 male team members

Teams of 8 - Max 5 male team members

Teams of 9 - Max 5 male team members

Teams of 10 - Max 6 male team members

Teams of 11 - Max 6 male team members

Teams of 12 - Max 7 male team members

Mixed teams which do not meet this ratio are welcome to participate, but will not qualify for a winners trophy.

The event is a relay race, so teams must complete consecutive laps of the 5 mile course throughout the 24 hour period. You may take breaks as you choose, however only one runner from each team may be running on the course at any one time for it to count to your team's total mileage. If more than one runner goes out with a team mate for company, they must take care not to cross the chip timing sensors.

Tracking Your Mileage

Chipped timing is provided on the day. You will receive your chip or team chips attached to your race number at registration. These must remain fastened to your race number throughout, and you must cross the chip timing sensors in the timing tent at the start and end of each lap.

Start and Finish Times

The race starts at 12pm on Saturday 6th July and runners may set off for final laps by the 11:59:59 on Sunday 7th June, as long as the final lap is completed by 1pm it will count towards your total.

During the race, live results will be available throughout the weekend from the chip timing tent.

The HARP24 2024 results will be published here on the website by Monday 8th July 2024. We will notify all participants when the results are available via email.
